IUAV University of Venice in collaboration with Think city, SCE Project Asia, Studio Architetti Croce and Venice Architectural Association (VAA) has organized a thematic design workshop with a theme of Heritage Preservation Malaysia and focuses on urban as well as architectural design for the civic precinct of Kuala Lumpur City Center. There were three categories for the projects in this workshop: Master Planning, Adaptive Reuse and Architectural Conservation, which my team and I were lucky enough to be awarded as the Best Project.
The work was presented and exhibited at ThinkCity headquarter, published in their website, as well as presented at Taylor's University Future Thinker 2020.

The workshop was conducted based on the idea of re-imagining the Kuala Lumpur's historic center into a viable creative and cultural center that preserves existing asset, improve its liveability as well as create attractive places for visitor appeal. As our designated place is the traditional retail street precinct, namely Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) which is famous for its fabrics and textiles, we were to propose urban interventions that retain its authenticity as a fashion district but enhance its walkability for tourists and liveability for the neighbourhood. Through this exposure, we have the chance to explore and gain invaluable knowledges regarding urban design and many essential skills.
