In this project, we were introduced to a new word, 'Genius Loci', which is the spirit, identity, meaning of the place.  The brief required us to produce an architectural response to the place by engaging the site. And for that reason, we needed to conduct a site analysis.

 

The site that we visited is a small traditional Hakka village called Kampung Pulai. It is located in Kelantan and surrounded by beautiful hills and nature. During our site visit, we learned about the history of the place, the uniqueness and the feel of the place. The information that we have gathered are then compiled into a report. We also have to produce a digital site model.

 

Individually, we were to produce our own interpretation of the site through sketches and drawings which will decide the design decisions of the following project. An initial concept was also part of the submission for this project.
