For this group assignment, every group was assigned to a specific Industrialised Building System (IBS), where we conducted a study of the related type and its construction method. ​To show our understanding of the system, we were to design a 3-storey apartment block using the assigned IBS components, in which we had to construct a physical sectional model of the building to show the IBS components in detail.

 

In this project, our assigned IBS system is the precast concrete system. As a result, components such as concrete masonry unit (CMU) blocks, precast hollow core slabs and precast concrete stairs were proposed for the design of the apartment block. The proposal was also backed with the calculation of IBS scoring.​​
