The project started by identifying and pick a contemporary contextual building in Asia. The selected building is then studied and analysed on the contextual architecture elements that respond to its context and surroundings.

 

The building that I picked is the Xinjin Zhi Museum, by Kengo Kuma. The museum is built as a dedication for Taoism, which relates strongly to its site as Xinjin, Chengdu is known as the birthplace of Taoism. Other than that, many of its features are designed as an answer to the site.
