Camouflage

For this project, first we have to conduct a site analysis at both macro and micro level of the site. We were brought to the actual site, which is Kek Lok Tong Cave at Ipoh, which then were divided into two parts and from there we were divided into two big groups. The context to be analyzed were the circulation; which is the subgroup that I was chosen into, landscape, existing structure, climate, vistas and activities of the site.

Then, from the collected data of the site, we were required to design a picnic pavilion that suit and correspond with the proposed site in a group of two. The theme of our picnic pavilion was camouflage where the concept is to build an interaction between man and nature through the play of light that will evoke a feeling of being under a tree which resulted in a roof and facade designed as such. The pavilion was also enriched with vistas and audio that will give more experience to the user.

Through this project, we learned how to conduct a proper site analysis and how it will affect the design process and forming of the built structure.
